Cantonal Commission on Ethics in Human Research
This commission evaluates research projects involving human beings within the framework of the HRA /LRH (Federal Act on Research involving Human Beings).
Research Ethics Commissions at the University of Lausanne
The CER-UNIL coordinates the online submission platform and processes projects requiring an institutional ethical validation. It delegates to Interdisciplinary Commissions (created in each faculty) the competence to assess ethical aspects of the research projects submitted to them. They issue certificates of ethical compliance. These commissions only deal with projects that do not fall within the scope of the LRH (CER_VD).
UNIL researchers and students may, if they wish or if it is asked by funding or publication authorities, submit their project to these research ethics commissions via the electronic platform.
CER-UNIL provides part of the training and support for researchers and students. It works in collaboration with the new Interdisciplinary Centre for Research in Ethics (CIRE).
